Here We Go...

I've never blogged before, and I'm not really sure what I'm doing here, but bear with me.  I'm trying this out because I am moving to New York City ONE WEEK FROM TODAY (!!) and I want to keep everyone in the loop about what sort of crazy things I encounter during my time up north.

In November, I found out that I was selected to be a summer intern at a Big 4 accounting firm.  Since then, I have been looking forward to what the summer might bring.  I felt like it would never come.  It seems like I have been waiting an eternity for what is just around the corner.  I would look at pictures and say, "I can see my office from there," or take study breaks to look for apartments on Craigslist.

In April, it finally sunk in that I was actually going to MOVE to NYC when I went apartment shopping in the city for a weekend.  I found a charming studio, and by charming I mean I can't stand inside my kitchen and open my refrigerator door because there isn't enough space.  The apartment is in Chelsea, and I couldn't be more excited about living what seems like "a grown up life."

Even though I leave in a week, I haven't even begun packing.  I haven't touched a single piece of clothing or furniture in my room.  Somehow within the next 7 days, I have to get all this junk to the house I'm living in next year, and figure out exactly what I'm going to be taking to New York with me.

I fly up on the 6th, and I plan on taking only 1 checked bag and a carry on, but don't worry, my awesome parents will be bringing me tons of stuff when the come up to help me get settled.

Wish me luck! Hopefully somehow I can get everything ready to go before it's time to leave!
