It's Been a While...

I do not remember the last time I posted. So I am going to recount almost every memory I have since then.  Starting with my trip to Boston.

Boston:

You may or may not know that I went to Boston for a 3 day conference affiliated with my internship.  I arrived on Monday around 2, and went to lunch with a few friends.  Right after lunch we were rushed back to the hotel to get dressed and head to the conference.  I ended up sitting at a table with a few friends, and 2 Deloitte professionals.  We had good conversation and ate, and then we were broken up into teams to begin some activities.  My team was named "The Webbies" after a concept that one of the boys mentioned: a handshake is only strong if the webs of your hands touch.  After the team building, we went up to our rooms to go out and have fun for the night.

Tuesday, we had to be downstairs at 7:30.  That was way early.  The morning was filled with a speaker and a breakout session on our company's culture.  Then we headed in for lunch, and I was lucky enough to squeeze in some time for a nap.  After lunch time/nap time, we left for a place called Thompson Island for games and team building.  I had a ton of fun bonding with my team and playing the games.  They sat us down for dinner, and served all 410 of us lobster.  I didn't eat any though, I've never been a huge fan of seafood, and I'm not the type to try new foods.  After dinner, I played a game of pickup volley ball and enjoyed time with friends.  We then headed home, and I was lucky enough to catch the tail end of the College World Series where the gamecocks won.

Wednesday was a morning filled with speakers.  After our speakers, we got a "departing gift."  They gave all of us Flip cameras! That was pretty cool, however, I'm not really sure how much I'll actually use mine.  It has been sitting on my desk for about a week.

Most kids went straight to the airport for the flight home, but my flight was at 4:30, so I explored Boston with a few friends.  Here are some pictures:

We got to eat at Cheers! It was a great time.

Thursday was a day spent at work beginning a case study.  All the interns from the New York office were split into teams and assigned a company to research and present on how we could offer an exceptional client experience.  My team was not meshing well at first, but we ended up being pretty productive by the end of the day.  This week we will be finishing it, and we will present to partners of the company on Friday in a competition.

Friday morning, Austin came for a visit.  We really got to do a lot over the weekend.  We went to the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Central Park, both of my offices, Coney Island, and a few other places.  We ate a lot of sweets, so that was fun too.  He will be here until Wednesday morning because his flight got cancelled tonight.

The past week has gone by crazy fast, and it is weird to think that this coming week marks the halfway point of my internship.  I am starting to think that I will never want to leave the city.  I was feeling homesick for NY while I was in Boston, so it is going to be extra tough when I get back home to Columbia.
